Lions Fall on Final Day at Beach

Brooks suffered its first defeat in the Gulf Coast Classic 3 on the final day of pool play. GW Long defeated the Lions 10-2. A sluggish start doomed the Lions as they trailed 5-0 after 2 innings. A five run sixth inning put the game away for GW Long. Brooks scored single runs in the third and seventh innings. Jonathan Coleman had two hits, including an RBI double in the seventh. Levi Glover also added two hits. Avery Cox scored both runs for the Lions. Brooks finished the tournament with a 3-1 record.

The Lions return to action Saturday at Rogers at 2:00 pm.
